Summary recommendations for prevention of equine gastric ulcer syndrome

  • Ensure your horse has adequate access to forage or pasture
  • Avoid periods of fasting
  • Feed fibre first and then add on any additional feed stuffs only when required
  • If feeding high starch concentrates do so little and often
  • Avoid feeding your horse large meals
  • Consider the use of supplements such as Premier Performance's
