Calming Cookies® are a completely natural product, handmade in the UK. Ideal for taking the edge off during excitable or stressful situations. such as competitions, hacking, travelling, loading, clipping, training, clinic,  farrier or during periods of box rest.

Calming Cookies® can help your horse stay relaxed, confident and focused without becoming lethargic, switched off or affecting the ability to perform.

Contains a unique combination of ingredients that are fast acting and effective.

The active ingredients in our Calming Cookies® are the amino acids L-Tyrosine and L-Arginine which play important roles in managing anxiety, attention and mood, helping your horse to stay calm and confident.
L-Arginine is necessary for the production of Nitric Oxide in the body. Nitric oxide is a signalling molecule required for many bodily functions, including learning and memory.
L-Tyrosine is a precursor for the neurotransmitters dopamine, adrenaline and noradrenaline, which also play an important role in memory, behaviour, attention and mood.

All our products are competition safe as they do not contain any known prohibited substances, as defined by the FEI.

Is your horse a fussy feeder? Why not try our Calming Powder which can be mixed into a feed and can also be used as and when desired?

Contains molasses. If your horse is sensitive to this ingredient or has a history of EMS or laminitis, we recommend feeding our Calming Powder or Premier Calm instead.

Our world-famous Calming Cookies® are available in OriginalMint, AppleCarrotBlackcurrant, Cinnamon, Banana , Liquorice and Magical Unicorn flavours.

Instructions for use

The effects of feeding Calming Cookies® can be observed in 30 to 45 minutes and can last for 3 to 4 hours but it is important to remember that individual horses can respond differently to the number of Cookies fed, depending on their metabolism and pre-existing levels of serotonin.

For first-time use: we recommend a loading dose of 1 or 2 Calming Cookies® the night before the event, 1 or 2 in the morning, then top up with 1 cookie 30/45 minutes prior to the event if required.

For particularly stressed or anxious horses we suggest building levels up over 2-3 days prior to when needed.

Once you have tried Calming Cookies you may find that some horses only require 1 or 2 Calming Cookies 30-45 minutes before a planned event.

Up to 6 cookies can be fed per 24 hours.

Safe to feed over longer periods or just as and when required. Can be fed by hand or broken up into feeds.

Calming Cookies and our Calming Powder complement each other and can be fed together.

Customer Reviews

  1. I bought these on the off-chance that they might help my retired mare be a little less stressed when her two friends went out hacking. She was box walking, calling and would sweat up whilst her field mates were out hacking. The first time I gave her two cookies whilst we tacked up she didn’t box walk so much and she was warm but not sweaty on our return. She now no longer shows the same stress levels about being left for an hour or so whilst her friends go hacking and she no longer sweats up. I give her two cookies when we start tacking up. I am glad I got the variety pack as there were definite preferences of flavour- some she liked, some she spat out! She likes carrot best so I got carrot flavour for her second bag!
