Calming Cookies® are a completely natural product, handmade in the UK. Ideal for taking the edge off during excitable or stressful situations. such as competitions, hacking, travelling, loading, clipping, training, clinic,  farrier or during periods of box rest.

Calming Cookies® can help your horse stay relaxed, confident and focused without becoming lethargic, switched off or affecting the ability to perform.

Contains a unique combination of ingredients that are fast acting and effective.

The active ingredients in our Calming Cookies® are the amino acids L-Tyrosine and L-Arginine which play important roles in managing anxiety, attention and mood, helping your horse to stay calm and confident.
L-Arginine is necessary for the production of Nitric Oxide in the body. Nitric oxide is a signalling molecule required for many bodily functions, including learning and memory.
L-Tyrosine is a precursor for the neurotransmitters dopamine, adrenaline and noradrenaline, which also play an important role in memory, behaviour, attention and mood.

All our products are competition safe as they do not contain any known prohibited substances, as defined by the FEI.

Our world-famous Calming Cookies® are now available in OriginalMint, AppleCarrotBlackcurrant, Cinnamon, Banana , Liquorice and Magical Unicorn flavours. Can’t decide? Why not try our Variety Pack of Cookies containing individual packs of our most popular flavours.

Is your horse a fussy feeder? Why not try our Calming Powder which can be mixed into a feed and can also be used as and when desired?

Contains molasses. If your horse is sensitive to this ingredient, or has a history of EMS or laminitis, we recommend feeding our Calming Powder or Premier Calm instead.

Instructions for use

The effects of feeding Calming Cookies® can be observed in 30 to 45 minutes and can last for 3 to 4 hours but it is important to remember that individual horses can respond differently to the number of Cookies fed, depending on their metabolism and pre-existing levels of serotonin.

For first-time use: we recommend a loading dose of 1 or 2 Calming Cookies® the night before the event, 1 or 2 in the morning, then top up with 1 cookie 30/45 minutes prior to the event if required.

For particularly stressed or anxious horses we suggest building up levels over 2-3 days prior to when needed.

Once you have tried Calming Cookies you may find that some horses only require 1 or 2 Calming Cookies 30-45 minutes before a planned event.

Up to 6 cookies can be fed per 24 hours.

Safe to feed over longer periods or just as and when required. Can be fed by hand or broken up into feeds.

Calming Cookies and our Calming Powder complement each other and can be fed together.

Customer Reviews

  1. Amazing!! My pony was so fizzy and spooky when it came to riding but I decided to try these after I saw Megan elphick using them and wow what a difference they have made my pony Rosie is like a different pony I would 100% recommended to anyone definitely will be buying more

  2. Wow! What a difference these cookies make! My pony is very anxious and winds herself up a lot, which makes it difficult to ride and tack her up. And she doesn’t enjoy her work as much because of this. But these cookies are a lifesaver! Calms her right down and gives her the confidence she needs to focus and enjoy her work.

Did a ride with and without the cookies and the difference is black and white!

  3. My daughter shows a pony who gets very uptight and agitated when at shows. The atmosphere and anticipation makes him sharp & silly and he doesn’t listen to what he is being asked. One of her customers suggested trying you calming cookies. This particular pony will not accept anything from your hand whilst at a show – even Polo’s. We were amazed when he gobbled up the calming cookies! The difference in his behaviour was impressive. It wasn’t a one off fluke either – he has continued to perform better at every show he has been to. Think you should call these Magic Calming Cookies!
