Calming Cookies® are a completely natural product, handmade in the UK. Ideal for taking the edge off during excitable or stressful situations. such as competitions, hacking, travelling, loading, clipping, training, clinic,  farrier or during periods of box rest.

Calming Cookies® can help your horse stay relaxed, confident and focused without becoming lethargic, switched off or affecting the ability to perform.

Contains a unique combination of ingredients that are fast acting and effective.

The active ingredients in our Calming Cookies® are the amino acids L-Tyrosine and L-Arginine which play important roles in managing anxiety, attention and mood, helping your horse to stay calm and confident.
L-Arginine is necessary for the production of Nitric Oxide in the body. Nitric oxide is a signalling molecule required for many bodily functions, including learning and memory.
L-Tyrosine is a precursor for the neurotransmitters dopamine, adrenaline and noradrenaline, which also play an important role in memory, behaviour, attention and mood.

All our products are competition safe as they do not contain any known prohibited substances, as defined by the FEI.

Our world-famous Calming Cookies® are now available in OriginalMint, AppleCarrotBlackcurrant, Cinnamon, Banana , Liquorice and Magical Unicorn flavours. Can’t decide? Why not try our Variety Pack of Cookies containing individual packs of our most popular flavours.

Is your horse a fussy feeder? Why not try our Calming Powder which can be mixed into a feed and can also be used as and when desired?

Contains molasses. If your horse is sensitive to this ingredient, or has a history of EMS or laminitis, we recommend feeding our Calming Powder or Premier Calm instead.

Instructions for use

The effects of feeding Calming Cookies® can be observed in 30 to 45 minutes and can last for 3 to 4 hours but it is important to remember that individual horses can respond differently to the number of Cookies fed, depending on their metabolism and pre-existing levels of serotonin.

For first-time use: we recommend a loading dose of 1 or 2 Calming Cookies® the night before the event, 1 or 2 in the morning, then top up with 1 cookie 30/45 minutes prior to the event if required.

For particularly stressed or anxious horses we suggest building up levels over 2-3 days prior to when needed.

Once you have tried Calming Cookies you may find that some horses only require 1 or 2 Calming Cookies 30-45 minutes before a planned event.

Up to 6 cookies can be fed per 24 hours.

Safe to feed over longer periods or just as and when required. Can be fed by hand or broken up into feeds.

Calming Cookies and our Calming Powder complement each other and can be fed together.

  2. Bonfire night 2023. New 3 year old this year so No known exposure to fireworks before. 3 others all been with me over 10 years so No the drill.
Little cassie has a calming cookie on Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night. She was a happy relaxed ponio listening to Classic FM, with the odd firework going off no problem. I knew a huge display was due in the 5th st 8pm. So I set up camp wrapped in a horse rug in the barn with the girls, so Cassie could see me and hear me. Well it sounded like world war 3 going off unbelievable noise for 22 minutes. Through it all cassie was very alert and looking and listening, a bit worried and box walked but easily calmed by my voice. Overall she was calmer than I thought she might have been no injuries, sweating or stress occurred so result. Can’t thank you enough ,oh and her big horse sister Chaz for letting her have some of her calming cookies.😂😂

  3. I have a Highland Pony, who is absolutely terrified riding/leading under bridges with traffic overhead. After a long conversation with Camilla (who was wonderful ) we decided to try him on the calming cookies 2 a day for 3 days then on day 4 an extra 2 cookies 45 minutes before he’s ridden.
Had I not been there I wouldn’t have believed it – he was a completely different pony – totally chilled. He did have a slight moment but sorted himself out very quickly.
I cannot thank Camilla enough for her advice and this wonderful product. I’m off to order more 😂
