The Electrolyte Cookie is a unique and flexible way of ensuring your horse’s electrolyte requirements are met. Contains sodium, chloride, potassium, calcium and magnesium which are essential for maintaining overall health.

Electrolytes are important for cardiac function, muscle contraction, dilation of blood vessels, nerve impulse conduction, kidney filtration, gut motility, maintaining internal pH Levels, and hydration. A deficit of these important minerals can result in poor muscle function and performance issues.

Horses in work lose electrolytes during sweating. Sweating is a major component of thermoregulation and it is known that electrolytes are lost through sweat.

However, electrolytes can also be lost through normal bodily functions (such as urination & defecation) and daily feed, forage and water intakes alone may not meet a horse’s required electrolyte requirements; therefore, it is advisable to consider feeding an electrolyte supplement to horses in work, or that sweat a lot, particularly during hot weather

Does not contain chemicals, fillers, binders or other known prohibited substances as defined by the FEI.
