A horse’s joints need to act as shock absorbers during exercise and therefore supporting your horse’s joint health is essential.
The joints comprise two bone ends covered by articular cartilage (provides cushioning to the joint) encased within a joint capsule (or sac). The inner layer of the sac, which is called the synovial lining, secretes synovial fluid that provides lubrication and prevents friction between the bones.
The articular cartilage is made up of collagen, proteoglycans and water. Proteoglycans consist of chains of glycosaminoglycans, which are a type of carbohydrate attached to a protein to provide strength to the cartilage. Chondroitin sulphate is a glycosaminoglycan and is a key component of proteoglycans. Synovial fluid contains hyaluronic acid (also a glycosaminoglycan) and a protein called lubricin. Wow one of my favourite premier performance products! We use performance flex for a long time with amazing results, then along came this new product performance flex plus and wow just when you think a product can’t get any better, this one has! The difference in the horse was very noticeable within a few days of switching over and is just incredible. We’ve been using the performance flex for quite some time but transitioned to the PLUS. a few months ago after the vet research that went into it.
Our horses have never looked or felt better. We’ve had horses come to us who have previously had injections in their joints, since using the Performance Flex Plus, they’ve not needed anything apart from this.
We can’t recommend this product enough and we certainly wouldn’t be where we are without it
