Sassy Mare Plus®  is formulated with a specific blend of herbs, minerals, vitamins and amino acids.

NEW: Now with Chamomile Flowers. Chamomile is a gentle herb, well-known for its calming properties and believed to reduce anxiety and promote a sense of calm.

Sassy Mare Plus contains no Soya of any form. Soya is naturally high in phytoestrogens – which isn’t great for a hormonal mare. The Sassy Mare Plus is formulated with Chia seed flour which carries natural benefits such as high in omega 3, good for hydration, easy to digest, calming and supports muscles.

Hormones in mares can lead to ‘stroppy’, unwilling behaviour, sometimes making a horse difficult to handle and resulting in a reduction in performance.

The Sassy Mare Plus is Bursting with hormone focused ingredients to support a sassy attitude. Formulated with ingredients that helps to ease the muscle soreness in her body. Some mares get girthy, don’t like being brushed and the sassy mare plus will help ease those symptoms.

Sassy Mare Plus contains Chaste Tree Berry (also known as Agnus Castus), a plant that has been recognised for many years for its benefits in supporting correct hormone levels.

Raspberry Leaf is a multi-beneficial herb that helps to support and soothe your mare’s temperament. Our Sassy Mare Plus formula contains high quality raspberry used to help maintain a naturally healthy temperament, support muscles and maintain calm. Helps with her “moodiness” and keeps her comfortable.

Black Cohosh is traditionally used to promote balanced levels of hormones throughout your mare’s cycle and soothe the reproductive tract.

Milk thistle is rich in antioxidants and supports a healthy liver, aids kidney and pancreatic health.

Ginkgo Biloba for its anti-anxiety effect and is high in antioxidants.

Flax Seed is an excellent source of Omega-3 essential fatty acids, “good” fats that have been shown to have heart-healthy effects. Flax Seed contains more Lignans which have higher antioxidant qualities than other plant foods. Flax Seed contains both the soluble and insoluble types of fibre.

Vitamin B6 helps cells make proteins and manufactures brain chemicals. It has been used for muscle spasms and some neuritis conditions.

Contains no magnesium, chemicals, fillers, binders or any known prohibited substances as defined by the FEI.

Customer Reviews

  1. After only two weeks on sassy mare plus I could see a difference in my mare.
Riding alone at home she was great, going anywhere riding with other horses she would get tense behind, distracted swishing her tail unwilling to go forward and always been quiet hormonal around others .. Now she is a different mare she relaxed, she forward, the tension has gone tail swishing stopped and she is general s much happier mare weather at home or out riding in company!

  2. Magic Powder!
So mare mare experienced tricky seasons, grumpy to be groomed, tacked up, rugged etc, banging her left side on stable wall, constant lying down (playing dead) and rolling and once stabled over night last winter started what we thought was spasmodic colic at the beginning and end of her season, really not a happy girl.
Fast forward to 2/3 months ago, I had tried every hormonal mare supplement on the market and seen no real change. Then she started to display extreme separation anxiety and alpha mare behaviour. She became more tricky to handle and couldn’t be left alone. Then 3/4 weeks things got V bad, she was rearing when coming in from the field and tried to jump her stable door due to anxiety caused by season hormones.

So I started her on Sassy Mare Plus. Loading dose for 5 days then dropped to lowest dose of 3/4 of a scoop 1 per day. (She is a 15.2 TB)
WOW, what a difference, she is chilled, relaxed and cuddly. Easy to groom, rug and saddle, no anxiety about being taken away from her field companion and happy in her stable and in the yard by herself. In the field she is chilled with far less lying down and rolling, no ‘ playing dead’ and she just seems happy in herself.

The results I’ve seen have been amazing, I was on the verge of trying regumate, but I’m very against chemicals and artificial hormones etc so this is wonder stuff. Thank you Premier for giving me my wonderful mare back. X

  3. Blown away rather than bucked off!!!

I sold my mare in 2014 after fracturing my spine and crushing my wrist bone resulting in permanent kienbocks disease in it 🙁 I regretted selling her and my broken heart was worse pain than all those bones, we lost contact with after broken promises but after lots of hard work found her again in 2022, and amazingly bought her back October 2024! Poor mare had a new owner once a year!

Anyway now 18 I was hoping she would be more mature, spring 2024 came and she turned into her dragon like mare she was 10 years ago, here’s me, riding her bitless again thinking it must be me, I got her vet checked and started regumate, it didn’t work.

When we travelled her home she loaded for me first time but wouldn’t with the previous owners, I’m sure it was the calming cookies, so I came on the website and saw sassy mare,

Wow!!!! So now she is on sassy mare and yes I have rode her today whilst she is in season and she has shown me her opinions and rounded her back in a playful safe way but not thrown any moves like she did last season before I started her on the sassy mare. I think I am going to keep her on the double dose to see if her next season is even better.
Today we encountered a man and dog doing his best to hide behind a hedge thinking it was a good idea and she could of bolted she was that scared but I held her still and with help from my friend she steadily then went forward, I’m sure without sassy mare in her system that would of been an explosion and more broken bones for me, so for me and my very tolerant husband and family it’s important that she can be as steady as can be.
Thankyou premier performance UK I will keep you updated on my very very special mare x
